The Great Year End Debate: Who Has The Worse Fan Tattoo?

We lied, there is no debate, they’re both absolutely horrible tattoos. As you can see from the pictures, today we are discussing the “super fan” who got Take Care artist/rapper Drake’s name inked on her forehead in huge block-letters; and the other “devoted follower” of The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted rapper Gucci Mane, who got the same ice cream cone tattoo that he has…on her face. Wow, those are some whoppers; face tattoos as a concept are usually bad ideas if you’re not part of tribe or warrior clan, but face tattoos that are their to show allegiance to rappers, those are bad ideas of a while other kind. We realy can’t say who made the worse decision, but we guess it’s fair to say that the Drake fan’s ink somehow looks worse since it’s so…it’s block letters on her forehead and the other one is a design, we’re sure you understand. Drake himself has voiced anger at the artist who allowed the young fan to get the tattoo, while Gucci Mane was probably too busy in court to comment.

Chuck Liddell’s Tattoos Insure He Will Always Be Scary

It takes a special kind of person to get a tattoo on his or her head, and that special kind of person is usually especially frightening; so even though he is no longer a high level Mixed Martial Artist, Chuck Liddell’s head tattoo makes sure he will always be intimidating. However, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light-Heavyweight Champion of the World and UFC Hall of Famer’s ink actually has a niver meaning. In Liddell’s own words, “It says Koei-Kan which is the martial arts style I started in first. It means a place of peace and prosperity.”. Liddell also has a creepy looking fighter-guy on his shoulder that says “Kempo” (another martial art) under it, and that one is their just to show his love for the art that made him millions and madehim a legend. Chuck Liddell may not be on top anymore, but his tattoos will forever be champions in our book, and we still wouldn’t want to run into him a dark ally…he seems to nice to hurt us, but now that we’ve wrote this, it might be awkward.

Zac Efron’s Newest Tattoo

When last we saw High School Musical‘s Zac Efron, he was fresh off his first tattoo. That particular piece of ink was some feathers on the inside of his biceps; part of his new grown-up image, which we predicted he’d further by getting even more ink in the future. Well folks, start up your flying cars, because the future is now and Efron has some new tattoo work already. He recently has been seen sporting “YOLO” on his hand; it stands for “You Only Live Once”. It’s actually an extremely underwhelming tattoo, as it’s just letters (not even designer letters at that), but it’s location shows that Zac Efron’s love for tattoos is here to stay. In fact, we’re going to say that the star of The Lucky One is one more successful movie, and the acquired “do what I want” status that comes along with it, away from getting some big pieces on his body. We’ll keep you posted, this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Zac Efron’s tattoos.

Kevin Durant’s Newest Ink

We can’t help but think that we’d appreciate Kevin Durant’s new tattoo a whole lot more if he wasn’t actually from Maryland; if he was just a big fan of the state for no apparent reason and wanted to show it. With that said, we’re still really impressed with the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar and youngest scoring champion in National Basketball League (NBA) history’s new back piece. We’ve told you before about Durant’s new-found love for tattoos, and his peculiar practice of only getting them in places that can’t be seen when he’s wearing his jersey. Well, Durant has added to his hidden trove of ink by getting a tribute to Maryland (the big “Maryland” across his shoulders), his jersey number (the hands on his back are making a ’3′ and a ’5′, he wears number 35), and his religion (the giant angel is pretty self explanatory) covering his back. Durant always gets great ink, and this piece is no different; it’s well done, meaningful, and not-stupid, which for a celebrity, is a major accomplishment.

Adrianne Palicki’s Tattoos

Adrianne Palicki has had a solid television career filled with ups and downs; from her great work on Friday Night Lights, Supernatural, and Smallville; to her failed efforts at making Wonder Woman and Aquaman into hits, Palicki has always put forth solid efforts. She’s also been pretty easy for her make-up departments to deal with, as she’s both got a naturally gorgeous face, and is not heavily tattooed. Palicki currently has three tattoos that we can see; she has an “Om” symbol on her ankle (a sacred symbol popular amongst yoga enthusiasts), “Jeff And Nancy” on her right arm (her parents’ names), and something written down her spine that we can’t quite read. She’s said in interviews that she has a Supergirl tattoo, so we’re not sure if her spinal ink is the tattoo in question, or if she has a forth piece hidden somewhere on her body. Her role in G.I. Joe: Retaliation has her wearing some pretty skimpy outfits, so perhaps we will get a better look at her ink in the movie.

Serena Williams Tattoos

Serena Williams has spent the better part of her adult life playing tennis in short skirts and sports tops, so it would be kind of hard for her to hide any tattoo she may have. With that said, the only piece of ink that we could find on the former #1 ranked female tennis player in the world is on the back of her neck. In that particular spot, she has a small heart design that has an unknown meaning. There’s not a lot of information out there about this one, so it could be something really meaningful to her, or it could just as easily be a random design that she picked off the wall of a tattoo parlor after a night out, we don’t know. We’re going to guess that as her tennis career winds down and she someday starts a family, she may end up with a litte more ink, perhaps something sentimental about her career, or her husband, or her children. We’ll keep you posted folks, and when Serena Williams get tattooed again, you’ll know about it.

Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles Believes

jennifer-nettles-3

Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles believes in something, what that is we don’t know but something probably, maybe Jesus, but in that case why didn’t she write “Jesus” on her wrist. Maybe she believes in herself so that is why she had that written on herself. It’s quite possible that she sings about it in her songs but we haven’t heard all her songs so we are content to guess.

The little flower she has on her hip was her entrance into the tattoo world at the age of 18. Then there is the heart with wings that we thought was fake at first because the colors are unrealish. But it seems to stay there unlike some other fake tattoos she has appeared with (see bottom pic, a joke Ronnie Dunn portrait).

George St. Pierre: Kanji And Love Of Canada

George St. Pierre (GSP) is one of the greatest talents in the history of mixed martial arts (MMA), but he’s definitely not one of the most tattooed. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Champion of the World and perenial top three pound for pound fighter only has two tattoos on his entire body. GSP has kanji symbols on his left pec that represent the two sides of his personality (“rude and nice” as he puts it), and a Fluer De Lis on his calf to represent his homeland in Quebec, Canada. A big reason for GSP’s lack of ink is probably his major maintsteam endorsement contracts with Gatorade and Under Armour; deals that have a lot to do with his ultra-clean cut image. While many fighters play up the ink-covered bad-boy image, GSP is all suits and polite speaking; he’s the guy that you’d want your daughter ro marry, and that guy usually doesn’t have too many tattoos.

Kevin McHale’s Beatles-Inspired Tattoos

Kevin McHale had quite the career, winning 3 NBA Championships, going to 7 All-Star games, and serving as head coach of both the Minnesota Timberwolves and The Houston Rockets…oh wait, that Kevin McHale, the one from Glee. Okay, so Kevin McHale, who plays ‘Artie Abrams’ on the hit show Glee, has been seen sporting two tattoos, both of which are inspired by The Beatles. McHale has the titles of two of their songs, “Imagine” and “Let it Be”, on his left ankle and left wrist respectively. The “Imagine” piece was done on the same night, and matches the ink of fellow Glee star Lea Michele; they got the matching tattoos on a night when they had a bit too much wine. Anyone think that there’s something kind of strange about two of the stars on Glee getting matching tattoos after a night of putting away too much wine? We’re not against it, it’s just funny the kids from Glee get that bombed.

DeShawn Stevenson: Gets And Gives Tattoos

DeShawn Stevenson has had a fairly uneventful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA), but the Dallas Mavericks’ guard/forward has a few things going for him; his tenacity, an NBA Championship ring, one of the best tattoos in the league, and a new fall back career as a tattoo artist. Stevenson is covered in ink, but his most prominent piece is the Abraham Lincoln surrounded by “5”s that he has in the front of his neck (the jugular/ Adam’s apple area); he got it for the obvious reason of Lincoln being a great man who freed the slaves. In addition to his awesome neck-ink, DeShawn has also turned his love of tattoos into a new hobby/possibly career, as he recently started to do a little work of his own as a tattoo artist. He did the small piece on his favorite tattoo artist at Fallen Sparrow Tattoo Co. ; we’re not sure if he really sees a future in this, but the tattoo (“92”, his jersey number) came out pretty nice for a first effort.
