As far as tats go, Steven is a bit of a conservative rocker. Is he even known as a rocker these days or has everyone forgot Aerosmith now that he’s got the American Idol gig? He’s only got designs on one shoulder and on the other bicep. The one on his right shoulder is kind of a disorganized mess of an eye with a star and some squiggly lines. He’s a 70s rocker and in those days a tattoo or two was good enough and he hasn’t updated. If I were him I would put some fresh designs on top of that mess and add a little to it. A good artist could fix it up good. You would think that in those days when he admits himself that we was in way over his head abusing various substances he would have made a few tattoo mistakes but looks like he somehow avoided that. His daughter Mia is much more serious, she is steadily covering all available flesh with tats.
And now for a few fan portrait tattoos. Some people like him enough to get his portrait done apparently. Here’s one complete with a tattoo of Steven’s arm tattoo.
And what’s this one phantom of the opera Steven? or a black and white Steven Tyler cookie? I’d give this idea a C- grade, there have been worse.
Matthew Steven Schulze was born on July 3, 1972 in St. Louis Missouri. He moved to Atlanta at 16 and studied guitar. He later moved to Los Angeles to become a studio musician. He soon began acting and modeling which led to his first big break modeling for Levi’s. He made his big debut starring along with Wesley Snipes in the movie Blade. Matt must have a fondness for the Asian culture because he has large inspired Asian dragon design tattooed on his right shoulder onto his chest. On his left shoulder he has the image of an American Native thunderbird. He could be torn between two loves. Matt told the UMSFC, “On my right arm is a Japanese dragon …It represents a mish mash of twisted memories from my youth and early manhood. I have slain the dragon. The rest of my ink are Native American…they represent part of my heritage.” Its not quite balanced with one shoulder all thickly inked with the ocean and the dragon and the other arm only with the thunderbird outline tat but it looks alright that way.
That says something, I don’t know what, that Norman has his own named inked on himself front and center. Nice little devil he has there, it looks like it was taken from Napoleon Dynamite’s sketch book.
We’re not sure what this next one is (star?) but apparently it appears on his body somewhere.
Norman has a little tat on his neck for the second Boondock film. That’s a good idea. If your an actor wearing different clothes and taking on a role a few tattoos can really make you feel like a different person or character.
Angels and/or demons on back. Some say they are the same thing. Maybe demons were once angles or they can switch back and forth depending on the situation. And so maybe that is what the artist is telling us, and what Norman wanted – here are some angles that don’t appear too angelic, at any moment they can become demons…
