Say what you will about David Beckham folks, but the man really seems to love his wife! Well…at least that’s what his new finger tattoo would have you thinking, because the retired international superstar’s new ink is dedicated to Victoria Beckham. More specifically, he has a new tattoo dedicated to the year that they were married. The big time celebrity recently revealed that he had gotten “99” inked on his knuckle because that was the year that he and the former Spice Girl tied the knot. It’s a very simple tattoo, but the thought behind it is very genuine and very nice. It’s well done for what it is, so it gets my approval. Good tat David!
In her own words ”I know that the two is high and in H2O the two is supposed to be low.” So folks, before we go any further, let’s give “X-Men: Apocalypse” some credit for admitting that she went and got herself a bad tattoo. Her new ink is supposed to be an “H2O” in proper scientific form, and it was done super faded on purpose to represent her “watered down rebellion”. However, it came out both inaccurate and way too terrible to get the point across. We doubt that she’ll have it removed, because bad tattoos get just as much press as good tattoos; probably more. Also, she can just say it’s a birthmark.
Man, when Kendall Jenner gets a tattoo she really goes…well…not hard. We’re not sure what the message behind her matching white-dot tattoo that she got with Joe Termini is, but it’s a small one. Looking more like a white-out spill than body art, the tattoo is literally just a speck of white on her finger. We can’t really have an opinion on it because it’s barely body art. Some people like big tattoos, some people like tiny one, but we guess that if there’s a meaning than it’s a worthwhile tat. We still don’t really get it, but good for her for doing what she wants with her body!
Celebrities love to get ink, that’s a fact, but sometimes they get it in slightly abnormal places, like Zac Efron here. The “Neighbors” star went out and got “YOLO” (You Only Live Once) tattooed on the side of his of his hand, which is a weird place for multiple reasons, not the least of which is how easy it is to wear off ink from that spot. He’s got nothing on Miley Cyrus though…The girl behind “Wrecking Ball” and the master of all that is bad twerking, the former Hannah Montana got “Rolling” and “$tone” inked on her feet. Why is this weird? Because she decided to get them put on the bottom of her hooves instead of the top…so the tattoos had zero chance of ever settling in for the long haul. Want to talk about “settling in for the long haul”? Mike Tyson knows all about that type of commitment, because he got the most committed of all tats…There it is folks, one of the most whacky of all the whacky tattoos in celebrity history. The former boxing world champion and star of “The Hangover” inked a nice looking tribal on his friggin’ eye socket a few years back because we guess he just wanted to show how committed her was to never having a desk job. Strangely enough, he actually wears the placement well. We’ll shut up about his ink choice now though, because we still fear him, and because Lily Allen says so…Lily Allen wants to us to “shhh…”, that’s why she inked it on her index finger. The ellipse at the end of it implies that she’s shushing for a really long time after the initial impact. She must really mean it, unlike K-Stew…“Twilight Saga” star Kristen Stewart got an infinity symbol inked on her wrist to represent her infinite feelings of…uhhhhh…something, but she got it so small that we doubt she really means it. Kesha means it though, just take a look.Okay so Kesha annoys us overall, but we got to respect her commitment and her message, way to show em’ who’s boss dollar sign lady! Speaking of being a boss…That’s a pretty out there tat for the “Amazing Spiderman 2” star, but he’s Jamie Foxx, he can do whatever he wants. The “Horrible Bosses 2” star has won an Academy Award and played Django, he can get as many crazy head tattoos as he wants. He’s a true king of Hollywood, so we respect his crown tattoo.Speaking of kings, Cara Delivingne has the King of the Jungle tattooed on her pointer finger, and it’s a really nice piece. Seriously, whoever did that bad boy was on point, because it looks like the lion is going to jump right off of her finger. She’s a weird girl, but she knows how to pick an artist, and she also must know how to pick her nose…in style. We’re finishing this list with Bryan Cranston, because he’s awesome. He had the logo for his all time great show “Breaking Bad” inked inside of his finger, and even though it’s a standard “I don’t want a real tattoo” tattoo, he did it to match his buddies from the show, and he placed it in a weird spot, so we’re cool with it. Is it the weirdest celebrity ink? No. Are any of these? No. But their placement is just a little bit strange to us, and we love making lists, so we hope you enjoyed it. See you next time you tattoo fiends!
Well it looks like Selena Gomez is all grown up… or at least her body of body art would point to that being the case. The “Come And Get It” (everyone in the office agreed that if we had a daughter who sung that song, we’d be really upset) singer recently added to her tattoo collection when she visited famed artist Bang Bang McCurdy’s shop in New York City and had some work done on her back. The new piece is in Arabic and says something to the effect of “Love Yourself First”, which most likely has something to do with her still getting over her storied relationship with pop prince and all around terrible person Justin Bieber. The two were so close, that at one point they were rumored to be getting matching ink, but just like their relationship, the idea went away. The new tat is her fourth, but all together she probably only has a couple of hours of work on her, if not less. Regardless, let’s take a look at her other ink…
Her first tattoo was the tiny little guy that you see above on her wrist. It’s a music note and…well…that’s really all there is to it. It’s a tiny music note and it looks like a tiny music note. It couldn’t have cost her more that a hundred bucks and probably took less than half an hour to do.
The “Behaving Badly” star followed that note up with a bigger piece (also done by Bang Bang) on the back of her neck. She got the Roman Numerals “LXXVI”, which translates into “76”. That’s the year her mother was born and Gomez is rightfully close to her supportive mama.
Her third tat was done in 2013 and is a bible verse going down her hip. It’s Philippians 4:13 reference, a bible quote which states “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”. The actual piece says “God who strengthens me”. It’s a simple piece, but it sits well on her body and should stay nicely if she takes care of herself. Actually, all of her ink is “nice”, just none of it is impressive. She just “has some tattoos”, she’s not “tattooed”. If that makes sense to you, then you’re tattooed. If it doesn’t…well then you might be Selena Gomez, and we wish you the best of luck in your future inkings!
You can learn a lot from someone’s tattoos. You can look at someone’s ink and have some idea of where they’ve been, what they love, what they’ve done, and what they believe; you can basically tell a whole lot about their past and present. Sometimes though, you can even tell their future by looking at their ink, such is the case with Beyonce Knowles and her vanishing tattoo. So what does the future hold for the “Drunk In Love” singer and multiple Grammy winner (she’s won like…all of the Grammys)? Well if her tattoos are to be believed, either a divorce or a new career as a hand model.
A few years back, the former Destiny’s Child front-woman married rap megastar Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter), thus forming one of the celebrity world’s most famous and successful couples ever. To celebrate the nuptials, Bey went out and got herself a little tattoo on her finger of the Roman numeral “IV”. The very small piece of ink sat right on her ring finger and represented exactly what you would think: the number four. Both Jay-Z’s birthday and their anniversary fall on the 4th of the month, so the tiny tat was basically a big (little) “I love you” to her husband. A great gesture right? Well…it was a great gesture. “Was”, as in past-tense, as in “the tattoo isn’t their anymore”. Yes folks, if recent pictures of the power couple are to be believed, then the ring finger piece appears to have been lasered off at some point in the past year. So like I said before, she’s either decided that she doesn’t have enough money already and is embarking on a career as a hand model…or she’s not planning on being married to Jay anymore. After her sister Solange was recorded attacking her husband on an elevator, speculation ran rampant that the all-time great rapper had done something pretty bad to his bride, and perhaps whatever that was has lead to the dissolution of their marriage. Their “On The Run” tour is still going on as of this writing, and they’ve been photographed together seemingly still together. However, they might be pulling a Sonny and Cher, staying together for show just to make a little more money before they call it quits. We can’t really say, but we can pretty much guarantee that Beyonce has had her tattoo removed, and people tend to do things like that for a reason.
Hey folks, it’s time to take a little look at the ink that’s currently gracing some of your favorite stars, as we present (* Fancy bellowing announcer voice *) Wednesday’s Tattoo Round Up! We know, it’d be better if it were Tuesday for alliteration purposes…but it’s not…so yeah, just keep reading.
First up, we have Justin Bieber’s number one lady, Selena Gomez. The Wizards of Waverly Place star and “Love You Like A Love Song” singer previously only had one tiny tattoo, but she decided to add to her body art collection during a recent trip to New York. Gomez’s first ink was a little heart on her wrist; she got it at the Under The Gun shop in Los Angeles, and it’s so small that it’s hard to find a picture of it where it doesn’t look like a speck of dirt. Her new ink is a bit larger, but still isn’t huge; it also appears to have a much deeper meaning. Gomez got the Roman numerals “LXXVI” on the back of her neck, which translate into “73”. The new ink was done by famed New York City tattoo-man Bang Bang at his shop, and according to the artist, it has a very special meaning to Gomez. In a recent interview about the Spring Breakers star’s visit to his show, he stated “The tattoo was a tribute to a family member who she said means a lot to her.”. We don’t know the exact meaning of the ink; is it someone’s age when they passed away? Someone’s birth year? We have no idea, but we always respect a tribute piece; we also respect that her new tat can actually be seen without the aid of a microscope and/or a jeweler’s loop. He boyfriend Justin Bieber, who recently threw up on stage during a performance (that’s not really relevant, we just wanted to remind you of his embarrassment), has a bunch of ink of his own, so we have to wonder if he’s rubbing off on her.
Selena Gomez wasn’t the only star to go under the gun recently, as everyone’s favorite serial killer, Michael C. Hall also hit up the local tattoo parlor just days ago. Cameras caught the Dexter star sitting on a table at True Tattoo in Los Angeles having his foot worked on by one of their artists. When asked what he was having done, Hall said “I’m just doctoring up my alien markings.”, which is celebrity for “None of your business”. From the looks of it, it’s just an artistic design, although it does look like something cavemen would have drawn on cave walls after an extraterrestrial encounter.
So a young pop starlet and a guy who plays a murdering hero both got inked within days of each other; is this part of some kind of conspiracy? Are the stars aligning via body art to take over the world?! No. People just get inked sometimes, stop being crazy folks.
Khloe Kardashian is easily the least annoying member of The Keeping Up With Kardashians cast (we refuse to admit that Olympic Hero Bruce Jenner is even involved with that circus, let alone that show), so we’re actually kind of upset that we’ve got to call her out on her bad tattoo, but we also like her other ink, so it’ll all even out.
Let’s start with the bad and we’ll get to the good later. Khloe has admitted in interviews that although all of her tattoos hold special meaning to her, she still regrets one of them…or at least it’s peculiar placement. The tattoo itself is a cross with “Daddy” written over it in honor of her late father Robert Kardashian, which is a wonderful. However, it’s a big ole’ tramp stamp…which is actually really weird when you think about it. It’s so inappropriate that when we first saw it we thought it was some sort of weird ode to a guy she once had a fling with. We were wrong though, it it’s for her actual father. Like we said, we’ll never crap on someone for showing parental love with their ink, but she really should’ve thought the placement through a whole lot more.
Her best tattoo is also dedicated to her father, so that makes up for the atrocity on her lower back. She has “I Love You” scrawled on her right wrist; a simple statement by itself, but when you factor in that she has it in her father’s handwriting, it’s a really great piece of work. There’s so much right about the idea and the execution behind this ink that we really started to forget about the tramp-stamp the moment we saw it.
Her last and latest tattoo is a dedication to her husband, NBA star Lamar Odom. She has his intials (“LO”…duh) inked on her left hand to show her love for her Khloe & Lamar partner. He has her initials inked in the same spot on his hand, making this tattoo another nicely executed bit on sentiment.
Overall, Khloe Kardashian is batting .666 with her tattoo choices, which is good enough for us. However, considering how much money she has coming in, and how unhappy she seems with her lower back piece, we think she should spring for a removal procedure. She should for sure get the tattoo redone somewhere else on her body (maybe her shoulder blade?), but it shouldn’t live in its current home. Khloe Kardashian still manages to be the most endearing member of the Kardashians, and she’s a laser and a needle away from having a very successful tattoo portfolio that’s filled with love and quality work.
When last we saw High School Musical‘s Zac Efron, he was fresh off his first tattoo. That particular piece of ink was some feathers on the inside of his biceps; part of his new grown-up image, which we predicted he’d further by getting even more ink in the future. Well folks, start up your flying cars, because the future is now and Efron has some new tattoo work already. He recently has been seen sporting “YOLO” on his hand; it stands for “You Only Live Once”. It’s actually an extremely underwhelming tattoo, as it’s just letters (not even designer letters at that), but it’s location shows that Zac Efron’s love for tattoos is here to stay. In fact, we’re going to say that the star of The Lucky One is one more successful movie, and the acquired “do what I want” status that comes along with it, away from getting some big pieces on his body. We’ll keep you posted, this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Zac Efron’s tattoos.
CM Punk is one of the most famous and highly touted professional wrestlers in the entire World Wrestling Entertainment Universe; he’s also one the most tattooed. His extensive ink includes: the Cobra logo on his right shoulder (from G.I. Joe), the markings of the Arashikage ninja clan on his right forearm (also from G.I. Joe), the Pepsi logo on his left shoulder, four ace cards (part of a piece he calls “Luck is for Losers”, and a tribute to his trainer Ace Steel), a three-eyed Koi Fish, a spider web with the number 13 in the middle (he says 13 is his lucky number), a Bouncing Souls (the band) logo consisting of a broken heart and skyscrapers, “DRUG FREE” across his knuckles, a Rocket From The Crypt (band) logo, “Straight Edge” on his stomach, a pez dispenser, Operation Ivy’s “Dancing Ska Man” on his leg, Rosie the Riveter with the words “There is a war” below her, “No Gimmick Needed” on his hand, a skull and dragon piece on his chest, a dead fish on his back, and some other random tattoos that represent his straight edge/ punk rock lifestyle.
