Johnny Depp – Movie Star, Pirate and Tattoo Collector

John Christopher Depp II was born on June 9, 1963. A musician and actor Depp has won the Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Glove award.  He quickly rose from a TV heart throb on the show “21 jump street” to a major movie star. Most recently he is starring in the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Johnny is no stranger to tattoos. He has an estimated 14 across his body in most of the major open spots. He says they are all sentimental milestones in his life that he would like to remember. That’s one way to do it that can be fun, hopefully when he is an old geezer he will still be able to make out what the tattoos were. He proudly displays his national heritage of the “head of a Cherokee Indian Chief” on his shoulder. He has the name of his first born child along with his mother’s name and a flying sparrow with his son’s name, Jack, below that. Isn’t that an interesting synchronicity because his character in the Pirates movies is “Jack Sparrow”. The character in the films also has numerous tattoos. Johnny recently added a new tattoo that says “Silence Exile Cunning”.

Miley Cyrus’ Inconspicuous Tattoos

Destiny Hope Cyrus, star of Hannah Montana and known today as Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee.  She’s the daughter of famous country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and has made a fortune since a very young age in TV and lately music.  The beautiful actress, songwriter, and singer seem to have several tattoos plastered over her cute little body. Located on her right torso is a decent sized dream catcher. Appearing on her fingers are the tattoos of a small cross with a heart. Miley Cyrus also has the word “love” tattooed on her ear, and on her rib cage is the phrase “just breathe”.  The tattoo “Just breathe” is an honorary memorial to one of her closet friends. Her friend died of cystic fibrosis. She has started out small but being this young we peg her for one of those gals that might get a full sleeve tat or a big back tattoo one day.

Wait a minute that skull is not what she really has there! Nice try though.

Tom Delonge’s Dense Sleeve Tattoo and Other Arm Blank

Tom Delonge has a good idea – one arm with a dense colorful sleeve tattoo and the other arm without any ink whatsoever. It stretches to the back of his neck and in front of the shoulder. Sure, he could have gone with both arms splattered with colored ink but this way, the one sleeve draws more attention. And it looks like he had fun developing the one sleeve, who knows where he’ll go with it next. Lot’s of flesh left over.

The Blink 182 band member has a few tats related to music. He has a punk rocker with a mohawk on his shoulder that he says might be Native American and it says southern California and then punk rock beneath. The UFOs below that are bombing his elbow with hellfire. Then he has some more outer space with pyramids and rocket ships. Then a mummy and a snake? Even in Tom’s opinion the whole construction does make much sense all together, its just a hodge podge mess of items scrapped together. He’s also got his wife’s name – Jennifer, on his neck.

Matt Schulze’s Japanese Dragon and Thunderbird Tattoos

Matthew Steven Schulze was born on July 3, 1972 in St. Louis Missouri. He moved to Atlanta at 16 and studied guitar. He later moved to Los Angeles to become a studio musician.  He soon began acting and modeling which led to his first big break modeling for Levi’s. He made his big debut starring along with Wesley Snipes in the movie Blade. Matt must have a fondness for the Asian culture because he has large inspired Asian dragon design tattooed on his right shoulder onto his chest. On his left shoulder he has the image of an American Native thunderbird. He could be torn between two loves. Matt told the UMSFC, “On my right arm is a Japanese dragon …It represents a mish mash of twisted memories from my youth and early manhood. I have slain the dragon. The rest of my ink are Native American…they represent part of my heritage.” Its not quite balanced with one shoulder all thickly inked with the ocean and the dragon and the other arm only with the thunderbird outline tat but it looks alright that way.
