Tyrese was born Tyrese Darnell Gibson on December 30, 1978 in Watts, Los Angeles, California. In 1994 Tyrese got his first commercial for a Coca-Cola advertisement, he sang the words “Always Coca-Cola. That commercial spring boarded his career and landed him a deal with RCA records. He quickly established himself as an R&B/Hip-Hop star. Frequently topping the Billboard charts. His acting career soon took off in 2001 when he starred in the film Baby Boy, directed by John Singleton. In 2007 he starred in the huge blockbuster The Transformers and the two sequels that followed. He then landed the role of Roman Pearce in the The Fast & Furious franchise. Tyrese again returns as Roman Pearce in Furious 7, which hits theaters April 3, 2015. Tyrese and the late Paul Walker were the best of friends.
Tyrese is a self admitted tattoo addict. The Fast & Furious stay says he has more than 70 tattoos, he says he can’t stop. He got his first tattoo at 17. A a star-sun on his right arm with writing in Chinese that means “low class talent”. That first tattoo is a reminder where Terese has come from. Now when he’s in the mood for some new ink he flies his favorite tattoo artist to L.A. He’s come a long way.
