You might not know her by her real name, Amethyst Amelia Kelly, but millions know this Australian rapper and songwriter as Iggy Azalea. What were the odds that a white girl from rural Australia wold be at the top of the hip-hop world today? Her debut album titled ‘The New Classic’ featured the hit single “Fancy” that became the hottest song of the summer. The single hit the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, Her second hit song titled “Problem” (a collaboration with singer Ariana Grande) charted at No. 2. The only other group to simultaneously hold No. 1 and No. 2 were The Beatles.
Iggy Azalea has several tattoos that we laid out below, each has a brief description and meaning of the tattoo.
“Trust Your Struggle”
While driving Iggy saw the phrase “Trust Your Struggle” scrawled on a wall. She was immediately inspired by the phrase and decided to get it as a permanent reminder to believe in yourself.
Birth of Venus
On her right wrist Iggy has a tattoo of the Roman goddess Venus. Believe it or not this is a cover up tattoo. The portrait of Venus is covering-up a flower tattoo.
“The New Classic”
Along the edge of her right hand fingers spells out “The New Classic” which is the name of her debut album.
“LIVE,” “LOVE,” and “A$AP”
Iggy Azalea has three words written in script on her fingers. “LIVE,” “LOVE,” and “A$AP”. These 3 words are the title of a mixtape by her one time boyfriend, emcee A$AP Rocky. After the relationship ended Iggy crossed out “A$AP”.
“Colour Me Free”
Iggy has the words “Colour Me Free,” written in script on her outer right foot. This tattoo is a reference to singer Joss Stone’s fourth album with the same title. The words give a feeling that Iggy is a free spirited person.
